As an AdWords expert witness, the first thing I have to tell you is that it is no longer called AdWords. Google, in its infinite wisdom, rebranded it as Google Ads on July 24th 2018. Apparently, they did not consult with any grammarians, because saying something like “Google Ads is” (that is, a plural noun acting as a singular noun) is a bit of a grammatical problem. But Google has never been strong on its brand consistency!
However, if you are engaged in any sort of lawsuit regarding Google Ads/Adwords, I can help you. If the case refers to something before July 24th 2018, then it’s Adwords, and if it is any time after that, it is Google Ads. I am glad we have cleared that little lot up!
