Being the top-ranked SEO expert in the San Francisco Bay Area is a great honor. Better than having the accolades of the trade press, or the credentials of some silly search engine college… is having a very high (often number 1) rank on Google searches such as ‘San Francisco SEO Expert’ or ‘SEO Consultants in San Francisco.’ The proof, they say, is in the pudding. Or in the eating. Or in the results.
I can’t tell you how many people call me, and ask” “How do I know that you’re good at SEO?” To which I often reply, “How did you find me?” And to which they answer, “I Googled you, and you are No. 1.” Long pause. And then I ask, “What was your question again?” To which they usually answer, “Ha, ha, ha. I get it.”
Setting up an SEO Project
Next, we usually discuss their seo omaha project. And here it gets a bit more interesting. They might be wondering –
- Should they do SEO themselves? Is DYI SEO an option?
- Should they hire a single person as in an expert or consultant?
- Or should they hire an SEO Company?
- Do they need specialist help from firms like Juris Digital for their niche website (i.e. law)?
A Philosophy of Doing SEO ‘With’ You and not ‘For’ You
That gives me the opportunity to share my philosophy. First and foremost, I do not do SEO “for” my clients. I do SEO “with” my clients. That’s why I emphasize that I am a consultant and not a company. “To consult” means to put the client’s interests and knowledge first, and (unfortunately) I find that there are many unscrupulous SEO companies out there that put their own interests first, and a) do not consult with their clients to learn about their products, services, and target markets, and b) keep those clients in the dark as to what SEO, if any, they are doing.
So by doing SEO “with” you and not “for” you, I maintain a consultative arrangement. In fact, I won’t work with companies that do not want to participate in some level.
Second, being a consultant means being open. I keep my clients “in the loop” with detailed monthly reporting, and a detailed, participatory method of SEO. Being the “best” SEO expert in San Francisco isn’t about showing up on Google first. It’s about keeping one’s clients informed and educated. As someone who teaches SEO, I have found that people like to understand the basics, and have a map of where they’re going.
This strategy gives me a long-term advantage. My clients are involved and understand how hard (and how easy) SEO can be. That’s why I consider myself the best SEO consultant not just in the Bay Area but pretty much anywhere: I do SEO “with” my clients and not “for” them, and so their SEO plan reflects their own interests. Each unique plan fits the unique needs of each unique clients. It doesn’t get any better than that. (Take my expert opinion).
