Here is something ironic. The Bay Area is the HOME of the mighty Google, yet many small businesses based here struggle to advertise on Google Ads (formerly Google Adwords) with any sort of success. It doesn’t matter what Google happens to be calling it this week, it’s the same platform and you can either be very successful on it or lose your shirt. Please note: Google doesn’t care. Yes, Google would like you to be successful on Google Ads because if you are you will keep paying them money. But if you are not successful there are plenty more where you came from!
Planning an online advertising campaign takes know-how. Yes, I am an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert, and one of my specialties is getting people to the top of Google and then keeping them there. It is one thing to get to the top of Google, and quite another to stay on the top of Google. They are forever changing their algorithms, so what worked one month suddenly doesn’t the next. You can be on top today, and tomorrow it may seem for all the world that you never existed!

But that is SEO. Another of my specialties is Google Ads. I am a Google Ads expert, here in the San Francisco Bay Area and, yes, you can make a killing on Google Ads provided that you know what you are doing. As with everything Google, there are an awful lot of rules about what you can do and what you can’t, what you can say, and what you can’t. Get it wrong and you can actually get banned from Google Ads – period. And it does happen.
Worse still, you can actually get banned without even knowing why. They just tell you that you were in contravention of their rules but don’t tell you what it was that you did wrong.
So when you use Google Ads you do need to know your way around in order to ensure that you stay within their guidelines. You also need to understand how to plan a campaign that works and produces results rather than one which swallows a lot of $$$ and doesn’t.
