Instagram is complicated. It’s not only the hip, cool, social platform favored by the young set. It is also under pressure from TikTok. Until a couple of years ago, hardly anyone had heard of TikTok, but since its’ foundation in 2016 it has accelerated rapidly and is now challenging the Instagram Reels product.
Reels are full-screen vertical videos that can be between 15 seconds and 90 seconds long. Unlike Instagram Stories, which delete after 24 hours, Reels stay on the platform until you delete them.
However, as with all things online, it is very easy to offend or generally upset other advertisers using Reels. There can be all sorts of accusations flying about in the courts, and the problem is that very often you may find yourself involved in litigation without ever having intentionally set out to upset a competitor, and even without knowing that a particular competitor existed.
If such a thing should happen to you, when a competitor accuses you of this or that, and the issue does finish up in court, then you will need an Instagram ads expert witness like myself who can explain everything in simple English to the judge and jury.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that millions upon millions of people spend heaven knows how long chatting away on social media, believe it or not, there are also people who never do such a thing. No Facebook account, no Twitter, no Instagram, no LinkedIn.
Some People Have Never Heard Of Instagram
In fact, it is very easy to find people who have never even heard of some of these platforms, many of them on the basis that they have better things to do with their lives than spend hours clicking around on them. So, in this sort of case, you would need an Instagram ads expert witness, who does fully understand how all the social media platforms work and is also able to explain them.
Remember that juries are composed of people who can be classed as “the man in the street”. They are selected from the population at large in a totally random manner. Some may be really up to speed with Instagram, while others may be in the “Huh? What’s that?” sector.
But these are the people who are going to have to decide who is right and who is in the wrong in a court of law, so they need an Instagram ads expert witness who can explain everything so that they can understand it. Who did/said what, when, why, how, what resulted, and more.
If you need this sort of help, then give me a call. I have the experience of giving evidence in court and can explain what needs to be explained.
