Google is based in Menlo Park, near the Center of the Bay Area. It’s one of the Bay Area’s biggest and most famous companies (along with Facebook (now renamed ‘Meta’), Twitter, Salesforce….). However, if you are a lawyer looking for a Bay Area expert witness in Google, you probably can’t hire a Google employee. If they work for Google, there would be a huge conflict of interest and they would probably get fired. Even if they no longer work for Google, they may be reluctant to be an expert witness that tells the “truth” about Google.
I am Jason McDonald, and fortunately, I do not work for Google, and I never have done. However, I am a perfect Bay Area expert witness in online ads because I have grown up with them. I was working online when they began back in 1998, and so I have watched them grow from nothing to the vast monolith that they are today. That also goes for Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, LinkedIn, and all the rest of the bunch. So, I understand how they operate.
It’s Essential to Understand the Different Ways in Which They Work
Part of the work that I do is concerned with advertising for my clients on all these platforms. They each have their own ways of working, and it is essential if you are an advertiser to understand all of them perfectly because if you do not, you can spend a small fortune on clicks without getting any results. So, my job in those cases is to manage my clients’ advertising budgets in such a way that they do get the results that they want. That is only possible if you really understand each of the platforms in minute detail because what works on, say, Google, won’t work on LinkedIn.
So, yes, if you are a lawyer with a client involved in litigation because of something that has occurred online, I am the perfect Bay Area expert witness in Google for your case.
Most importantly, not only do I understand how Google and all the rest of them operate, but I have appeared as an expert witness in many cases. That means that I am perfectly confident in standing up in court before a judge and jury and opposing counsel. What is even more important is that I can explain all the minutiae of Google to a judge and jury in words that they can understand.
It is no good just being an expert on Google if you cannot explain everything in simple English. Only that way can a judge and jury come to an informed decision – the right decision for your client.
